Steps towards implementation

At its first meeting, the decision was made to prepare a separate new document, the National Children’s Environment and Health Action Plan, instead of revising the existing National Environment Action Plan (NEAP). The existing NEAP is still a draft, not officially adopted by the Serbian Government and it includes mostly environmental factors.

The National CEHAP Committee was set up on October 7, 2005. It covers several important sectors: health, environment, education, architecture, toxicology, epidemiology, occupational health, toxicology, international cooperation, traffic, etc. and it plans to meet every two months. However it has not yet been officially recognized by the Government.

Visit the WHO website. It can help you find out more about what your government has to say about its activities for children’s environment and health. For information and views from NGOs, stay on these pages.
