EEHC and CEHAPE TF

EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENT AND HEALTH COMMITTEE (EEHC)

The European Environment and Health Committee (EEHC) is a unique coalition that brings together representatives from:
- health ministries
- environment ministries
- intergovernmental organizations
- civil-society organizations

Its overall role is to support countries as they try to reduce enviromental hazards that affect human health. It oversees coordination and follow-up of the outcomes of the Environment and Health process in the European Region, and helps to promote and ensure reporting back on the implementation of the commitments made at the Fourth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health which took place in Budapest in June 2004.

Two Europe-wide NGOs are included in the European Environment and Health Committee (EEHC).

CEHAPE TASK FORCE

At the first meeting of the new EEHC in January 2005, a task force was set up to bring together Member States to share experience, progress and challenges as they implement the Children’s Environment and Health Action Plan for Europe (CEHAPE).
