The project objective was to prevent or minimize pesticide related diseases and fatalities among children and in their families.

A comprehensive pesticide management training programme was developed and then introduced to community residents, farmers and their families. The programme included courses on the risks of using pesticides, on the signs of pesticides poisoning and on how to prevent these. There was a one day workshop organized on the causes of illnesses related to pesticide use in Telavi, the central part of the Kakheti Region, for local authorities, health care personnel, farmers, farm-workers and NGOs.
