Children’s Health and the Environment

Name of the organization: The KemNet-network within the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC)

Title of the project: Children’s Health and the Environment

Contact: www.snf.se

The main project aim was to increase public knowledge of the harmful chemicals in a child’s environment among immigrants in Sweden. The focus was on parents with small children. An information pack was put together entitled “The Child, Health and the Environment”, and translated into seven languages: Swedish, English, Spanish, Persian, Sorani, Somali and Arabic.

Information packs were disseminated nationally and locally to maternity centres, municipalities and local authorities, as well as to members and local branches of the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation and Swedish Folk High Schools.
