The "Iuliu Hatieganu" University of medicine & Pharmacy of CLUJ-NAPOCA: waste water management in hospitals

"One of our projects represents a national priority (it is a VIASAN Project) in the field of environment protection from our country. It aims at the achievement of a hospital waste water monitoring system based on informational engineering. The main objectives of the project are: proposals of chemical and biological guidelines for hospital waste water, the risk assessment for population and environment, recommendations of prophylactic measures.

Several pilot studies carried on during this project (physical, chemical, bacteriological and biological parameters) emphasized that, in our country, the present quality of hospital waste waters poses a real risk for human health and ecosystems integrity."
